Quickchange Moveable Barrier

Read document description

The QuickChange Moveable Barrier is an N2, W4 and H2, W6 barrier system for Temporary (Construction) installations. The system comprises a linked “chain” of reactive tension barrier units which can be raised slightly from the road surface and moved across the carriageway by a Transfer Vehicle allowing lane priority changes during road works and Traffic Tidal Flows. The system allows better phasing of road works and more intensive construction as a result of more construction space being available, thus improving productivity and better utilisation of manpower and plant. * Increases work area for contractor * Barrier can change lanes at up to 10mph several times per day * Construction or permanent applications * Very low barrier deflection * Allows increased traffic flows during peak periods, increased work area during off peak periods

P4 Terminal - Xtension 110

Read document description

The Xtension 110 (P4) terminal is a D.1.1 universal system with reversible head and fitting kit allowing Left Hand (Verge) and Right Hand (Central Reserve & Departure) installations from one kit of parts. The system can be attached to any ‘W’ beam system with the non proprietary end beam included in the system kit. The Xtension 110 is fully approved by the Highways Agency for use in the UK and the NRA for use in the Republic of Ireland. XTension P4 Terminal The Xtension P4 Terminal uses new tension technology which dissipates impact energy by tension rather than compression. The impact energy is smoothly transferred from the head unit into the tension cables allowing superior post impact vehicle control and redirection even with high angle impacts. A superior performance at moderate cost.

P4 Double Sided Terminal - Xtension 110 Double

Read document description

Xtension 110 P4 Terminal Double Sided The Xtension 110 Double-sided P4 Terminal is the ONLY APPROVED double-sided P4 system available and offers many advantages to contractors and installers:- · Driven post, socketed post and surface mounted post options · Fully approved double-sided P4 terminal – can be used without a ‘Departure from Standard’ · Very cost effective solution particularly when using the driven post option · Universal system for verge, central reserve and departure applications · D.1.1 Performance · Connects directly to ‘W’ beam barrier systems of N2 containment and W2 working width – additional connection pieces are not required · Uses new technology to provide high performance at low cost · Foundation options to suit most applications · Less parts than similar systems - lower stocking and repair costs – speedy installation The Xtension 110 Double-sided P4 Terminal provides a safe termination for barriers as an alternative to conventional double ramped end terminals which can potentially launch errant vehicles into the obstruction being shielded or into an adjacent carriageway. Its overall length and low displacement make it particularly suitable for restricted sites. The Xtension 110 Double-sided P4 Terminal is fully tested to EN1317- 4 and is approved for use on Highways Agency roads. Under test the system proved its capability to redirect a 1500kg vehicle, when impacts from both sides occurred, safely redirecting the vehicle at a shallow exit angle and also absorbing the energy from a 1500kg vehicle impacting head on. When impacted, the system engages with the impacting vehicle, favourably influencing deceleration and direction of the errant vehicle, bringing it to a safe halt. The Xtension 110 Double-sided P4 Terminal is a tension based system that is simple and robust. The impacting vehicle pushes against the impact head smoothly transferring the energy into longitudinal cables which are located behind the system beams. The resistance between the impact head and the cable dissipates the energy during the rearward motion and brings the vehicle to a progressive, controlled halt.

BarrierGuard Gate

Read document description

The BarrierGuard Gate is a ‘safety barrier gate’ as listed in the ’HA Accepted EN1317 Compliant Road Restraint Systems’ and is a derivative of the high performance BarrierGuard system offering N2 Containment with a Working Width of W5. The system is also approved for H2 applications. The gate is made up from ‘gateposts’, first gate sections and intermediate units. The ‘gatepost’ may be anchored or free, it is often anchored for permanent applications and free in temporary barrier installations, (the addition of a ’T’ top allows the alternatives). The minimum opening is 6 metres and can be increased in modules of 6 metres. Opening the gate is simple and speedy. Both gate pins are removed at the opening end, and one at the hinging end. The wheel sets are deployed with a 13mm square male socket drive located through holes in the barrier top. When the barrier feet are clear of the road surface the gate can be pushed in the desired direction. Removing all four pins allows the gate section to be removed completely . Closing the gate is the reverse of opening, no special tools or lifting equipment are required. The BarrierGuard Gate is from a range of permanent and temporary barrier solutions from Highway Care.

TAU Crash Cushion

Read document description

The TAU ‘family system’ of static roadside crash cushions are fully tested to BS EN 1317-3 and approved by the Highways Agency for use on the UK trunk road network, and the NRA for use on roads in the Republic of Ireland. TAU crash cushions are redirective & bi-directional with Redirection Zone Class Z1 and Lateral Displacement Zone Class D1, providing high performance, high re-usability and speedy repair after impact. Modular construction minimises costs and decreases installation and repair times and hence exposure of operatives. Installation requires a simple concrete pad cast in-situ or in certain circumstances the system can be installed directly to the carriageway surface. TAU Crash CushionTAU systems are particularly resistant to side redirective impact damage and have low life cycle costs in comparison with alternative similar products, thus offering high overall performance at competitive prices. TAU systems are available in Velocity Classes 60, 80, 100, and 110km/h. The 60, 80, and 100km/h systems are available in three widths protecting hazards of 700mm, 2350mm and 2900mm. The 110km/h system is available in two widths protecting hazards of 700mm and 2400mm.

Lorry Mounted Crash Cushion Systems

Read document description

The Scorpion LMCC complies with the current requirements of Chapter 8 and is approved for use on UK highways. Lorry mounted crash cushion systems are designed to mitigate the effects of an errant vehicle impacting a maintenance truck. By absorbing the energy of the impact, the potential injuries to occupants of both vehicles are minimised and damage to the maintenance vehicle dramatically reduced or even prevented. The lorry mounted crash cushion will also help to control the impact, thereby minimising the chances of secondary accidents. Highway Care offers a quality service which includes crash cushion (LMCC), light arrow and specialist traffic management body packages. Our vehicle mounted products and services are widely regarded by our customers as being superior in terms of performance and reliability, in the most demanding of situations. All LMCC packages are backed up by dedicated workshop facilities carrying a comprehensive range of spares. * The Scorpion is divided into sections, making it more economical to repair after lower speed impacts * Comprehensive range of spares available * Excellent after-care service, including telephone support * System available for sale or hire * Available with motorway Light Arrow and various traffic management body options
